Privacy

RentRecord is built so we hold as little about you as possible. This page explains what that means in plain terms.
Your inspection stays on your device
Your rental address, photos, notes and room details are stored on your phone, in your browser. Your PDF and save file are made on your phone too. None of this is uploaded to RentRecord, and we can't see it.
Because it's on your phone, clearing your browser data can delete it. Download your save file to keep a copy.
When you pay
Payments are handled by Stripe. You enter your card and email address on Stripe's checkout page, not on ours. Stripe uses them to take the payment, send your receipt and prevent fraud. We can see your email address, the amount, and the last four digits of your card in our Stripe account. We never see your full card number.
To unlock your Evidence Pack, each inspection gets a random code that contains nothing about you or the property. We store that code, the date it was paid for, and the Stripe payment reference. We don't send your address, photos or notes to Stripe.
Visitor counts
We count how many people use each step of RentRecord (for example, how many start an inspection or download a PDF) and which website or ad they came from. We use Umami, a privacy-friendly visitor counter, for this. These counts use no cookies and contain nothing from your inspection: no address, photos, notes or inspection codes.
If you contact us
If you email us or use our feedback form, we'll have whatever you send, such as your email address and message. We use it only to reply and to improve RentRecord.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your information for advertising.
- We don't need an account, so there's no profile of you.
- We don't store your rental photos on our servers.
Your choices
You can delete your inspection at any time by starting a new one or clearing your browser data. To ask about the information we hold (your email and payment record), or to have it deleted, email rentrecord@outlook.com. Some payment records may need to be kept for tax purposes.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
